The birthday song by the 80’s band Altered Images became the theme song during our weekend in Indiana. We arrived on my 50thbirthday and departed on Gabby’s 18th, celebrating around her ballet audition to Indiana University. Although memorable, it was not quite the milestone celebration we wanted. France and Scotland were on my list while Gabby dreamed of Paris.
The year was a busy one and travelling wasn’t possible. There were auditions, surgery and recovery (for me), graduation, college and the big move.
Tomorrow, a year and a half later, I’m off to France to begin my celebration. My destination is Saint Antonin, a medieval village outside of Toulouse where I will attend a beginning photography workshop. The Hundred Foot Journey was filmed there so you can imagine the photo opps I’m anticipating.
This trip randomly presented itself and fell in to place too easily. Meant to be. I can’t wait to get my Europe fix with cafés, croissants and Champagne.
Speaking of milestones, Kate and I are working on an exciting project to celebrate her 75th birthday. It involves hiking boots, writing and Scotland. I will share more on that later.
